city light hotel

city light hotel

Located on the busy Rashtrapati Road, City Light Hotel, the nearly six-decade-old building was a popular landmark in Secunderabad. In fact the junction came to be known as City Light junction.

Famous for its Irani chai, biryani and other lip-smacking dishes like roti, kheema, City Light was a must visit for residents of Secunderabad, especially during a visit to RP Road for shopping. The hotel was also popular among the business community having their shops around the place. Serving City Light Irani chai to their esteemed customers was a norm. For early risers in the area, it was almost a ritual to visit City Light for their favourite cup of teasabzi roti.

The hotel was also a popular haunt for autorickshaw drivers and daily wage workers working in the nearby Monda Market and other business establishments.

City Light Hotel was not among the old buildings issued notices by the GHMC. The outward appearance was fine. It seemed to be a reasonably stable building.
